Back from a relaxing weekend in Reno visiting friends, watching movies, catching up on family news. The landscape is to different there it was a vacation for the eyes and ears... so quiet in the neighborhood we were visiting, in the southern hills above the city. Just crickets and stars, lights from the city below. Saw some fire damage along hwy 80 at Yuba Gap and elsewhere... very sad. Traveling past Soda Springs, and past Truckee made me nostalgic for long ago summers spent sunning and dreaming in the mountains.
Control... that's the theme of a show coming up next year with art group SBAWCA that I'm involved in. I'm still trying to come up with a visual image or collage of images that best represents that theme as applied to women. I feel lucky I have not had much of a problem in that respect during my life --- our country, messed up as it is, is a far better place for women than some.
